Public Hearing Tonight on Edgewood Redevelopment

Planning Commission will hold public hearing following release of draft EIR for Edgewood Plaza.

Palo Alto residents will have an opportunity to weigh in tonight on the proposed redevelopment of Edgewood Plaza.

The Planning Commission, which meetings tonight at 6 p.m. in Council Chambers at City Hall, will hold a public forum on a draft environmental impact report being presented by city staff. That report is available in the sidebar of this story.

Sandhill Properties, the developer, wants to modify the exisiting site—a planned community design by famed architect Joseph Eichler—by adding ten residential units and a park, and by moving one historic retail space to another location on site, among other changes.

Sandhill wants a redesignation of the zoning from retail to mixed-use in order to allow the park and residencies.
