Just Around the Corner – an Eagle!

Saturday morning, walking toward of Peet’s on Homer Avenue, I saw that the parking area was empty, except for two men and a beautiful bald eagle.  While one person handled the eagle, the other provided the story about how it had come to be part of the Palo Alto Junior Museum & Zoo.  The onlookers, standing on the sidewalk in front of the newspaper bins, were fascinated. Most of us had never been that close to an eagle.

While the Peet’s staff assembled for a photo, I rushed to my car for my camera.

Later I found out the details, the backstory for this event, as provided by Peet’s staff:

“Yes – Peet’s Homer is excited to announce that we have chosen the Junior Zoo and Museum as our 2013 Donation recipient. From Dec 17-Dec 24, we will be soliciting donations on behalf of the museum and Peet’s will match up to $1000.”
