Leadership Palo Alto 2.0 Seeks Applicants for Class of 2014

Do you want to explore the inner workings of the Palo Alto community while enhancing your leadership skills? Do you have the desire and a passion to serve in a leadership capacity in Palo Alto? Are you ready to get out of your silo, meet a cross-section of emerging engaging people and integrate creativity and innovation, design thinking and core 21st century leadership skills into your toolbox?

Enter Leadership Palo Alto, a program of the Palo Alto Chamber of Commerce and sponsored by the City of Palo Alto that is currently accepting applications for its third cohort of emerging leaders who will enter this transformative leadership development program in September 2014. Re-launched in January 2012 after a nearly decade-long hiatus, Leadership Palo Alto 2.0 accelerates local civic leaders through a 10-full day immersion program over an academic year. Leadership Palo Alto Fellows gain an in-depth understanding of the full spectrum of Palo Alto life, including the community’s economic, social and government challenges, opportunities and trends in the context of Palo Alto’s global influence.

“Leadership Palo Alto provides the vital human capital that makes Palo Alto such an extraordinary city, cultivating the robust pipeline that supplies our elected and community-wide leaders who can in turn, be leaders of leaders from our unique perch in the global center of technology and innovation” asserts Co-Director, Lisa Van Dusen. “Our fellows are creating prototype solutions that can be shared, scaled and replicated for systemic change well beyond Palo Alto.”
