Arbor Day Festival This Weekend

Saturday's festivities to include tree-planting, food trucks, live music, and a tree circus.

A fun-filled day of tree-related activities comes to Saturday morning.

Starting at 10:00 a.m., Canopy and friends will present Arbor Day—part of a national movement promoting tree planting. Activities will include a ceremonial tree planting in honor of the 100th anniversary of the Girl Scouts, a Tree Climbing Circus, a live concert with the Banana Slug String Band, and more.

City Arborist Dave Dockter will also be on hand to offer a sneak peak tour of the new tree design, and arborist Kevin Raftery will show attendees rare trees in Mitchell Park.
