Changes in PG&E's Scheduled Work near Stanford

PG&E contractors will be working during the day on the Foothill Expressway/Junipero Serra between Page Mill Road and East Campus Drive.

ANOTHER CHANGE: BACK TO DAY WORK NEAR STANFORD!

Effective 9/21, PG&E contractors WILL BE working during the day after all on the Foothill Expressway/Junipero Serra between Page Mill Road and East Campus Drive. (PG&E has been trying to accommodate Stanford’s changing needs.) There will likely be traffic delays to Palo Alto commuters headed northbound on the Foothill Expressway. Meanwhile, night work (9pm-5am) will be conducted from East Campus Drive west to Alpine Road.

Pipeline construction on the Palo Alto portion of this segment is expected to start at the end of September. The current plan is to conduct night work just west of Hillview Ave at 3351 Miranda Ave., which is to the entrance of the Foothills Tennis and Swimming Club, and proceed westward. Daytime work is expected to start during the same period again at 3351 Miranda Ave., which is to the entrance of the Foothills Tennis and Swimming Club, and proceed eastward in the opposite direction across Hillview Ave. and ending just passed the VA hospital property.

As a reminder, this second segment of PG&E’s Gas Transmission Line #109 to be replaced runs through Palo Alto, Stanford and Menlo Park. The portion in Palo Alto runs next to the Foothill Expressway (Miranda Avenue) in front of the Veterans Administration Hospital and the University and Foothill Clubs and merges onto the Foothill Expressway, continuing up to Page Mill Road.
