Christmas Trees: Patch's Shoppers Guide

Find out where to buy your fresh-cut or artificial Christmas trees in town.

Many local stores started selling Christmas trees right after Thanksgiving. Not far behind, Palo Alto Patch has this nifty guide for you to sort through and select the best location near you.

  • Sea Scouts Christmas Tree Lot, at 3672 Middlefield Rd., Palo Alto, offers fresh-cut Christmas trees. Open 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. weekdays and 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. weekends. 650-493-6614
  • Skyline Ranch Tree Farm, on Skyline Boulevard (Highway 35), one mile south of Page Mill Road on Skyline Boulevard, or nine miles north of Highway 9 on Skyline, has pre-cut and cut-your-own trees. Cut-your-own is $55 for any tree. Open 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. weekdays and 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. weekends. 408-395-0337
  • Paly Christmas Tree Lot, at the northwest corner of , 50 Embarcadero Rd., opens 4-7 p.m. Monday through Friday, 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday and 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Sunday.
  • Kiwanis Club of Menlo Park has a Christmas tree sale as part of its fundraising. It's on the green that surrounds Stanford's Foster Field, on the corner of El Camino Real and Galvez Street. Open 2-8 p.m. weekdays and 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. weekends.
  • SummerWinds Nursery, at 725 San Antonio Rd., Palo Alto, offers fresh-cut trees. Price is $12.99 for tabletop and up. Open daily from 8:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. ‪650-493-5136
  • Webb Ranch features fresh-cut trees from Washington and Oregon at Santa's Village, at 2720 Alpine Rd.,
 Portola Valley. Open daily 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. through Dec. 24. 650-854-3134
  • Grandpa's Pumpkin Patch and Christmas Tree Lot, at 455 San Antonio Rd. in 
Mountain View, next to Sears, features a variety of trees, including noble fir, grand fir and Douglas fir. The website also offers a $5 coupon. Open from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. daily till Christmas Eve.
  • Balsam Hill, at 180 El Camino Real, the Stanford Shopping Center, has all kinds of artificial Christmas trees this year.
