City Partners With East PA for New Shuttle Service

News from the City of Palo Alto:

The cities of Palo Alto and East Palo Alto have partnered together to offer a new community shuttle route beginning this month that will connect the Woodland-Newell neighborhood in East Palo Alto with the Caltrain station in downtown Palo Alto.

The shuttle will operate on compressed natural gas and run seven days a week (except on certain holidays) from 6 a.m. to 9 p.m.

New CNG vehicles, operated by MV Transportation, will be used to operate this and the existing Crosstown Shuttle route.

The Crosstown Shuttle provides a north-south transit connection from Charleston Road to the University Avenue Caltrain station along Middlefield Road and several community neighborhoods.  The Crosstown Shuttle Route is funded 100 percent by Palo Alto and is free to ride.

The added East Palo Alto shuttle route will be fully funded by the City of East Palo through regional transportation funding and replaces service previously operated by Caltrain.  The East Palo Alto/Caltrain shuttle will be free and run seven days per week, excluding holidays.
