Fed up with burglaries in your neighborhood? The Palo Alto Police Department is urging citizens to get involved in a program co-sponsored by the city.

Palo Alto Neighborhoods (PAN) and the City of Palo Alto have formed the Block Preparedness Coordinator (BPC) Program. That’s a mouthful, but the bottom line is simple—you participate in keeping your neighborhood safe.
Volunteers are trained in everything from disaster preparation to Neighborhood Watch.

In a statement announcing the arrest of burglary suspect Axel Morales earlier this week, PAPD Officer Marco Estrada said, “we encourage our residents to consider becoming involved in the Block Preparedness Coordinator Program administered by the City’s Office of Emergency Services.”
The next free training class is today, Nov. 15, 7 – 9 p.m. The session will be held at the Palo Alto Art Center, 1313 Newell Rd.
