Local Breast Cancer Nonprofit Honored

Breast Cancer Connections has been named 'Outstanding Nonprofit' in the 34th Annual Tall Tree Awards.

 

Breast Cancer Connections, a Palo Alto-based nonprofit organization that provides free programs and services for patients and families, as well as testing for low-income people, has received a Tall Tree Award. 

The awards are presented annually for exceptional civic contributions and service to the community.

“We are honored by the outpouring of support we received leading up to this award,” said Karen Nelson, Breast Cancer Connections’ Executive Director. “Many of our patients, volunteers, and board members wrote letters praising the organization’s dedication, and I’m proud to say that we continue to fulfill our founder’s dream of supporting those touched by breast cancer as we approach our 20th anniversary. It’s extremely rewarding to have our commitment to the local community acknowledged.”

The awards were presented on April 10.

Breast Cancer Connections offers a toll free Helpline at (888) 222-4401. The organization’s resource center is located at 390 Cambridge Avenue, Palo Alto. Hours are Monday – Friday, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., Saturday 1 to 5
