Mac Computers Turn 30 This Month

Join the celebration in the same venue where Steve Jobs announced the game-changer.

By Dave Colby

It's been nearly 30 years since Steve Jobs stood inside a dark, cavernous Cupertino auditorium before a bunch of invited onlookers and introduced the world to the Macintosh computer.

This month, the momentous event that changed the lives of many will be remembered on the same Flint Center stage, reports the CultofMac website.

The Mac 30th Celebration will start at 7 p.m. on January 25 to commemorate the Mac and the original Apple Mac development team. Sponsors are the Computer History Museum, Macworld/iWorld and All Planet Studios.

A highlight of the event may be a showing of Ridley Scott’s 1984 Apple Mac commercial, and a discussion afterward by those who conceived it.
