May Fete Parade: How To March & What Palo Alto Streets Will Be Closed

Also: Museum of American Heritage hosts Annual Vintage Vehicle & Family Festival with lots of activities.

Palo Alto's 92nd Annual May Fête Parade is Saturday -- May 3 -- with the theme of showcasing good neighborly behavior. 

Want to march? ... just show up at the check-in table on Emerson at University by 9:30 a.m. on parade day and march with the KIDS ON PARADE category.

Kids can march in a costume related to the theme (use your imagination and creativity), on their bikes, trikes, scooters, skates, or anything else with wheels (no motorized), or come with your four-legged friends.

Note: Pet safety is very important. Please make sure all pets are on leashes or appropriately housed: be sure to bring water in case your pet gets thirsty and bags to pick up any refuse.

The Palo Alto Police Department is announcing downtown parade-related road closures.

Beginning at 6 a.m. and lasting until about noon, University Avenue will be closed between High Street to Kipling Street, and Waverley Street will be closed between University Avenue and Channing Avenue. 

The parade begins at 10 a.m. 

Also, there will be road closures in the area of Heritage Park at 300 Homer Avenue until about 3 p.m. At the park after the parade, there will be an array of free activities for kids, a performance stage with local groups, and tons of great food!
