Nearly Twenty Years Before Stanford Speech, Jobs Rallied for Higher Ed on C-Span

In 1987, Steve Jobs gave a rare video appearance on C-Span, urging America to invest more in higher education.

After the news of Steve Job’s resignation, a video of his 2005 commencement speech at Stanford University has garnered renewed interest. Jobs, who dropped out of Reed College, concludes the speech by urging bright eyed graduates to “Stay hungry. Stay foolish.”

But nearly 20 years before he spoke at Stanford, a young Jobs appeared on C-Span, voicing his opinion that America needs to invest more in higher education to improve its economic position. Cupertino Patch features a clip of the rare video .
