Sunday Is 'World Music Day' in Palo Alto! And Here Are Your Road Closures ...

Palo Alto World Music Day, an annual music festival that takes places on Father's Day, is Sunday -- June 15 -- from 3 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. on University Avenue and King Plaza. 

All performances are free and open to the public. Fifty professional and amateur musical groups will perform on street corners and plazas, playing: jazz, blues, classical, pop, rock, klezmer, Greek, Balkan, Indian, World Music, choral and dance. 

It is a fun family event, to be sure, but with it come some road closures.

Beginning at noon and lasting until 9 p.m., the Palo Alto Police Department reminds residents, the following roads will be closed: 

* University Avenue (from High Street to Cowper Street) 
* Hamilton Avenue (between Ramona Street and Bryant Street) 
* Bryant Street (between Hamilton Avenue and University Avenue) 

The City of Palo Alto and the Palo Alto Recreation Foundation are partnering to host the event in front of City Hall.

In addition, the graduation ceremony for Stanford University occurs Sunday at 10 a.m., so expect additional traffic in the area for that event as well.
