• Girls Softball - Sign ups. Throughout the week. Mountain View - Los Altos Girls Softball is a softball league open to girls who are 5-16 years old.

• Scout's Fund Holiday Gathering - A Season of Comfort.holiday gathering to benefit animals in need of rehab therapy at the Peninsula Humane Society. Burlingame. 

• Pictures with Santa- Pet Night! 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Stanford Shopping Center.

• Foothills Park Workday. Palo Alto. Volunteers of all ages welcome; minors under 18 require a signed waiver; children under 12 require an accompanying adult. 

• Kids & Teens Writing Contest. All day event. For kids grades 2-5 and teens grades 6-12. Winning essays will be published on the Library's website, as well as the website of the Palo Alto Historical Association.
