The Friends of the Palo Alto Library invite the community to listen to Chris Bohjalian discuss his new book The Light in the Ruins Friday, July 19 at Books, Inc., at 855 El Camino Real from 7 p.m. until 8 p.m. Book signing after the event.  Free!  

Champion dancer Cheryl Burke visits her Mountain View studio Friday, July 19 and Saturday, July 20 for dance lessons and dance competition. Price and times vary. Check studio website for details.

The Palo Alto Police Department invites the community to "Come Meet Eddie the Police Dog" this Saturday, July 20 from 3 p.m. to 4 p.m at Heritage Park, 300 Homer Ave. Two-year-old Eddie is their newest canine learning to be a K-9. Watch Eddie through a series of obedience drills and learn about his specially-equipped patrol car.

The Fourth Annual West Coast Disability Pride Parade & Festival takes off this Saturday, July 20. Parade starts at 11 a.m. along Castro Street in Mountain Viewand ends at Pioneer Park with the festival until 3 p.m. 

Meet and chat with State Senator Jerry Hill who visits the Mountain View Farmer's Market this Sunday, July 21 from 9 to 10:30 a.m. No appointments needed. All welcomed to share their ideas and concerns about legislative issues in our community. Location: Caltrain Station, 600 West Evelyn Ave.
