We are a culture obsessed with food but how did we get here?  Gopnik traces our table ancestry back to France and discusses its rapid evolution.

 In the hopes to create a new discussion about the way we eat, Gopnik explains how food helped families and friends came together and why those conversations and relationships were always more important than what was actually put on the table.
