Climb-It Challenge

Save emissions while you save on admission!

Chabot introduces a new program, supported by the Metropolitan Transportation Commission's Climate Initiatives Program, to save you money: on selected Saturdays in October through December use our FREE shuttle service from Fruitvale BART and Rockridge BART - or carpool with three riders or more - and get $2 OFF each General Admission to Chabot, home of Bill Nye's Climate Lab, interactive and hands-on exhibitions, Planetarium shows, and our historical telescopes.

Join the Climb-It Challenge and do your part to create a healthy climate of savings for yourself and your community: cut costs AND carbon!

How it works... We have two ways for you to reduce green gas emissions:
    1.    Hop onto Chabot's FREE Shuttle from Fruitvale BART and Rockridge BART Stations on Saturdays: 11/26 &12/10  
    2.    Carpool to Chabot with (3 or more riders) on 11/26 & 12/10 and each person in the car will receive the discount
    •    Upon arrival at the Center you will receive a R.A.R.E (Reduce Admissions Reduced Emissions) card
    •    Fill out the card
    •    Receive $2 off admission

Saturday, November 26: Hike the Hills (1pm & 2:30pm)
FREE with General Admission
Hike through the Redwoods on an interpretive guided hike. Hikes are led by experienced guides who will discuss the beautiful natural landscape and its role as a climate indicator. Hop onto Chabot's FREE Shuttle from Fruitvale BART and Rockridge BART Stations and save on your admission to Chabot. Experience Pacha's Pajamas Free Live Performance at 12noon and 3pm.

Saturday, December 10: Climb-It Challenge Finale (11am - 2pm)
Hop in our FREE shuttle from the Fruitvale BART and Rockridge BART Stations, hop out at Skyline Boulevard and walk to Chabot! Each participant will receive a pedometer to measure how far they've walked. Visitors will tour the Center and Bill Nye's Climate Lab still wearing the pedometers. At the end, we will record how far we've walked and what that means for our environment.

Shuttle riders are not required to exit at Skyline Boulevard and the shuttle will continue on to Chabot.
