Free Concert 5 p.m. Wednesday Lytton Plaza

Earthwise Productions welcomes Lardner & Hermosilla, from Spain, who will busk (from the Spanish "buscar") at Lytton Plaza, 5 p.m. Wednesday, October 26, 2011. The performers, Sam Lardner and Pedro Hermosilla perform original music for voice and acoustic guitars. They may or may not (at their convenience) use the sound system loaded in by Sue Webb as part of her ongoing jam session which typically runs Wednesday evenings (and Fridays) at Lytton Plaza, since 2010. Webb's grass roots effort to optimize the community's investment in Lytton, a public park, has featured more than 130 coordinated events and about 1,800 registered participants.

Earthwise, the concert company founded by local arts activist Mark Weiss, is best known for a series of events at Palo Alto's Cubberley Community Center, which featured early shows by then-emerging artists like Train, blink 182, Cake, Charlie Hunter, Ozomatli and Dar Williams. Earthwise also brought Grammy-nominees Magnolia Sisters to Lytton Plaza in April, and is said to be organizing a "flash mob" version of "Palo Alto World Music Day" called International Congress of Buskers of Palo Alto (ICOBOPA -- "eye co BOW pa"). Info at earwopa@yahoo.com or see Mark Weiss's blog at Patch.
