Rive Gauche Presents: Music of the Antarctic Exploration Expeditions

On Saturday, March 12th join the Museum of American Heritage in Palo Alto for "Rive Gauche Presents: Music of the Antarctic Exploration Expeditions- From Captain Cook's Circumnavigation to the 1959 South Pole Antarctic Treaty," part of the museum's 2011 spring lecture series.

Left Bank/Rive Gauche is well known to MOAH audiences for their thoughtful interpretations of historic café music, but this year they're taking you on a musical adventure to the South Pole. Their 65 minute presentation was first performed at the Smithsonian Air and Space Museum as part of the 50th anniversary celebrations of the 1959 Antarctic Treaty. Historic photographs, period music selections and text will illustrate the importance of music in the lives of explorers and scientists involved in two centuries of Antarctic Exploration.

This event is free for museum members and $5 for non members. For more information visit the museum's website.
