Why go: This 11th annual late summer equipment sale from the Aquatic Center and Lakeside Cafe features a semi-trailer sized selection of watersports gear, vessels and parts, as well as kitchen and other equipment.

3. RENGSTORFF ARTS FESTIVAL

Where/When: Rengstorff House at Shoreline, 3070 N. Shoreline Blvd., Mountain View; Sunday, 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Why go: See the work of local artists and students from the "Art4Schools" program at the Community School of Music and Arts at this fine art weekend extravaganza.

4. VOLUNTEER FOR THE BAYLANDS

Where/When: Palo Alto Baylands, 2775 Embarcadero Rd., Saturday, 9 a.m. 12 p.m.

Why go: Give back to your community this weekend and volunteer at the marshlands, one invasive weed at a time. The Palo Alto Baylands is a sanctuary for native birds and needs your help!
