Where and When: Atherton Library, 2 Dinkelspiel Station Lane, Atherton. This Friday, March 25, 7-8:30 p.m.

Why Go: Take the whole family to see this recent animated favorite, which earned rave reviews. Plus, you’re saving yourself a hit to the pocketbook at the same time, since we all know a trip for the whole family to the movie theater can be quite expensive, indeed! The Atherton Library hosts family-friendly movies on the last Friday of every month, sponsored by the Friends of the Library.

LEARN INFANT MASSAGE

Where & When: , 299 S. California Ave., Suite 299, Palo Alto. Saturdays, March 26 to April 16, 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.

Why Go: Infant massage is a wonderful way to bond with your baby, as well as to help soothe babies that are upset. Learn the skills to perform infant massages in this comfortable, intimate setting, with other mothers and their babies.

Pricing: $129 for the four-week session

 

SATURDAY PLAYHOUSE: BEAUTY AND THE BEAST

Where and When: Palo Alto Children’s Theater, 1305 Middlefield Road. This Saturday, March 26, with showtimes at 10 a.m. and noon. 

Why Go: “Saturday Playhouse” performances take place once a month and are specifically tailored for children age 3 to 6. All of the shows are interactive, and the audience helps the actors tell the stories with sound and movement!

Pricing: Tickets are $10 per adult, and $5 per child. Purchase tickets in person at the box office or over the phone, Tuesday through Saturday, 2-6 p.m., at 650-463-4970.

 

INTO THE WILD: WELCOMING BACK THE PLANTS

Where and When: , 26870 Moody Road, Los Altos Hills. This Saturday, March 26, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Why Go: Get into nature with your child, and teach them all about the wonders of organic plants and food. Spring comes early in California, and spring greens and flowers rise like a living tide, all around our feet. Celebrate the season with the folks at nearby Hidden Villa by gathering wild, edible and medicinal plants to enjoy in a wild salad for lunch, laugh about silly weed tricks, and help take the friendly farm goat for a walk to see what she decides is good to eat. Bring a backpack with a bag lunch and water to drink, sensible shoes, and perhaps a notebook to make nature sketches in or press plant specimens in to dry. Meet at the kiosk. For children age 8 and above and a parent or guardian.

Pricing: $45 for first adult and child, and $20 per each additional adult or child.

 

Where and When: , 1530 Arastradero Road, Palo Alto. This Saturday, March 26, 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.

Why Go: This could be a great way to give back to the environment as a family, while teaching your children about the importance of taking care of Mother Earth. Join the nonprofit group Acterra to help plant new native oaks and help restore Arastradero Reserve’s natural habitat. It’s a fun way to start off your weekend in a refreshing way, in the great outdoors. Dress in layers, bring any friends and family members who may want to help, and a water bottle.
