Why Go: Here’s something a little different! You may know how to bowl, but can you lawn bowl? Join the for weekly lessons for all ages on Wednesday nights. Loaner bowls are available, and club members are friendly and welcome newcomers!

BELATED 4TH OF JULY CELEBRATION AT LITTLE HOUSE

Where/When: Little House, 800 Middle Ave., Menlo Park. Today at 11:30 a.m.

Why Go: Not ready to let the 4th of July go? If you’re still in the mood for one last Independence Day celebration, bring the kids and head on over to the Little House today at 11:30 a.m. For $6 you can enjoy a delicious BBQ lunch of chicken, coleslaw, baked beans and, of course, red-white-and-blue cupcakes. At noon, boogie to the live music of Courtableu Cajun Trio, and if your kids are on the older side, stick around for a screening of The Patriot with popcorn at 1:30 p.m.

JUNGLE SAFARI CAMP DAY

Where/When: , 299 S. California Ave., Palo Alto. This Friday, July 8, 2-4 p.m.

Why Go: It’s a little bit of summer camp, without a long-term commitment! Blossom Birth is offering a one-day camp of a different theme each Friday this summer. This week, it’s a “Jungle Safari!” Kids will make animal puppets, learn all about the different animals of the jungle and move, move, move. These one-day camps are for ages 3-8.

STANFORD LEGENDS YOUTH FOOTBALL CAMP

Where/When: Elliot Practice Fields, , 450 Serra Mall. Next three weekends—July 9,10, 16, 17, 23 and 24—9 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Why Go: A group of Stanford Football alumni have joined together to offer three youth football camps on consecutive weekends this summer in July, for kids age 6-13. Campers will have the opportunity to train each day, work hard, improve, make new friends and, of course, have fun. Each athlete is encouraged to develop new skills and achieve a new level of play and self-confidence. Campers will work on conditioning, fundamentals and technique at individual positions. The camps are ideal for football players who want professional training and are looking to develop into better athletes.

‘SCHOLARSHARE’ FREE DAY AT THE TECH MUSEUM

Where/When: Tech Museum of Innovation, 201 S. Market St., San Jose. This Sunday, July 10, 10 a.m. to 8 p.m.

Why Go: The Tech Museum of Innovation in downtown San Jose wants to inspire the innovator in everyone with their “ScholarShare Free Days.” Enjoy free admission for the whole family and explore how technology and science affect the way we live, work, play and learn. Hundreds of fun, interactive exhibits will provide hours of creative discoveries. Ride the Earthquake Platform; play with robots; learn about Silicon Valley innovations in the newest gallery, The Tech Silicon Valley Innovation Gallery; and many more unique, hands-on activities for all ages.
