A masked gunman robbed the Shell gas station on Embarcadero Rd. near Highway 101 Tuesday morning, the Palo Alto Police Department reports.

The unknown suspect fled in a gray Acura MDX sport utility vehicle. The three gas station attendees weren't injured.

Palo Alto Police dispatch received a call around 11:18 a.m. on July 2 that the gas station at 1161 Embarcadero Rd. had been robbed by an armed suspect who wore a handkerchief mask. According to the PAPD, the suspect pointed a black semi-automatic pistol and demanded money. The victims—three employees in the booth, a man in his fifties, a woman in her forties and a woman in her thirties—handed the money over.

The suspect left driving southbound on 101. After an area check officer didn't locate the suspect.

The suspect has been described as a black male, about six feet tall with a thin build, who wore a black hooded sweatshirt, dark pants and a white handkerchief over his face.

His age couldn't be determined by the victims.
