Dozens More Flights Canceled Because of Hurricane Irene

Five departures and 26 arrivals canceled at SFO today.

Dozens of flights between San Francisco International Airport and
the East Coast were canceled again Monday, even as major airports in the Northeast resumed operations in the aftermath of Hurricane Irene.

Airport spokesman Mike McCarron said five departures and 26 arrivals have been canceled at SFO Monday.

All major airports in the Northeast that had been shut down by the storm indicated that they were reopening Monday, McCarron said.

Passengers are advised to contact their respective airlines to get the latest information on the status of their flights, regardless of their
final destinations, McCarron said.

Travelers were also advised not to go to the airport unless their air carrier has confirmed that their flights will depart as scheduled.
