Food Truck Cavalry Returns To Milpitas

Eight gourmet food trucks will gather in the Big Lots parking lot from 5 to 9 p.m. Wednesday.

Eight gourmet food trucks will set up shop at 5 p.m. Wednesday in the parking area outside the Big Lots store in the Serra Shopping Center, 200 Serra Way.

They will be serving up a wide selection hot and cold food entrees, snacks, beverages, and desserts for alfresco diners until 9 p.m.

Below is a list of this week's food trucks:

Bao and Bowl -- Find healthy Cantonese food here, such as steamed pork bao buns, shrimp gao in rice paper and sticky rice.

Blast Off Truck -- This futuristic looking truck brings in prime American comfort food such as a blueberry compote and triple creme brie grilled cheese.

Hongry Kong -- True to its name, this truck serves up a variety of hearty foods and decadent sweets. There is everything from chocolate mousse tart to chicken grilled in tangy tomato sause.

Rice Rockit -- A variety of tasty meals sit atop a bowl of rice. Particularly unique are the Longanisa Sliders, a sausage boiled in San Miguel beer that comes with a fried egg, and grilled red onion garlic aioli.

Spice it up Cafe --This unique Japanese crepe truck offers sweet specialties such as the Tokyo pop ($5), a combination of sweet red bean paste, green tea ice cream and mochi.

Tastee Bytes -- The Deep South comes to the South Bay with specialties such as the Rajun Cajun Kaun Dog and Tastee Wings.

Tacos de los Altos -- This food truck may be small but it boasts a mighty large Super Burrito, filled with all the basics, and your choice of meat, including BBQ Pork and Chile Verde Pork.

We Sushi -- Find everything from traditional California rolls to the “WE Sushi” burrito at this Japanese food truck.

The event is sponsored by Food Truck Mafia and the Milpitas Chamber of Commerce. Admission is free. For details, call, 408-262-2613.
