Legendary Fillmore Concert Posters Go on Sale

Posters offer a visual history of three decades of San Francisco's music scene.

Hundreds of vintage concert posters commissioned by legendary concert promoter Bill Graham are being offered for sale in Palo Alto.

The “The Art of The Fillmore” collection is being sold at photograph and frame in Palo Alto.

The posters helped promote some of the most famous concerts at the original San Francisco Fillmore venues and the Winterland starting in the late 1960s, including performances by Jimi Hendrix, Janis Joplin, Jerry Garcia, and Jefferson Airplane.

The 230-piece poster collection offers a visual tour through three decades of music in San Francisco in addition to the artistic influence of Psychedlic, Comic Book, Modern, Computer Generated and French Art Noveau.

The posters range from $30 to $200.

For years, they have been exclusively sold by Wolfgang's Vault, which produces and owns the rights to the posters. This is the first time the posters have been sold outside of the Vault in a retail store.
