What is your business known for?

C is for Craft, is a craft studio with a focus on the preschool community—teaching and interacting with preschoolers and their caregivers. The concept is to have a place where parents and caregivers can go with their preschool-aged children—20 months to 8 years old—and participate in creating old-fashioned, handcrafted projects. Our Craft Studio sessions are available for a modest hourly fee.

When and how did your business get started? My business got started because there was a need in the community for a safe place for kids to come to do some hands on learning. My own preschooler needed more to do and I saw first hand how this need was not being taken care of by organized classes that we could not commit to. Not all preschool aged kids in the Palo Alto area attend preschools and are not exposed to the variety of art and craft projects we offer. There is also a need to just take your kids out and do something fun and creative or send them with a caregiver to have an awesome time. We officially opened in April of this year.

Does your business offer a special deals card or program? C is for Craft puts on specialized art classes for kids and is an incredible place to have a party. We also have glitter.

What's something interesting about your business your customers might not know? We also do craft sessions for the child in all of us. If someone had a group of friends or coworkers that wanted a facilitated craft session - we would gladly put it together.

Why did you choose Palo Alto to open your business? I live in Palo Alto and wanted to support the community. There are many businesses that focus on business people and entice many that have small children to the Bay Area - but not many businesses that focus on those children.
