Stanford Mendicants Surprise Diners

Gobble, a personalized dinner service, brought two customers a special show the night before Valentine's Day.

We drove around The Oval in Gobble's delivery vehicle Wednesday, circling toward The Quad, as the daylight faded from the sky above Stanford University.

The Stanford Mendicants stood on the sidewalk, waiting for us, dressed in cardinal red blazers and khaki pants. Some snapped their fingers in unison. Each held a red rose in their hand.

Ooshma Garg, Founder of Gobble, emerged from our car and greeted them cheerily.  She invited two dapper young lads into dark gray sedan and told the rest of the a capella group members to follow our lead.

They were needed for a very special dinner and a show combo that night.

The Stanford Mendicants serenaded two families, one in Los Altos and one in Menlo Park.  Garg said the families are long-time Gobble customers, and currently order dinners from her service everyday. She wanted to give them a heartfelt thank you and make their Valentine's Day Eve memorable.

Watch the The Stanford Mendicants surprise this Menlo Park mom and daughter in today's PatchClip.
