Theranos to Move Headquarters into Pacific Research Center

The healthcare systems company signed a long-term lease for a 220,000-square-foot space, according to media reports

Theranos Inc. is said to be the private company that recently signed a long-term lease to move into Newark’s , according to the San Francisco Business Times.

The report states that the company, which describes itself as a healthcare systems company, will move from its Palo Alto headquarters to a 220,000-square-foot space in the 1.4 million-square-foot center located off of Gateway Boulevard.

Theranos CEO Elizabeth Holmes founded the company in 2003 after leaving her studies at Stanford University. The company specializes in that provide real-time diagnosis, monitoring, and treatment of ailments in a non-invasive fashion. 

The San Francisco Business Times report comes within the same week that pharmaceutical company Depomed Inc. announced it will be moving its headquarters from Menlo Park.

Depomed signed a 10-year lease for a 60,000-square-foot space within the center.

The Pacific Research Center's commercial property executive, BioMed Realty Trust Inc., has leased more than 660,000 square feet in the 10-building center in the past 18 months, the San Francisco Business Times reported.
