Calling all Palo Alto Innovators – Win $1 million for your idea
Submissions are now being accepted for the 2014 Verizon Powerful Answers Award competition. The multi-million dollar global challenge is designed to spark innovative thinking and problem solving across industries and generate ideas, solutions and answers for some of the world’s biggest issues.
Last year more than 1,300 companies submitted their big ideas; each leveraging Verizon’s broadband, cloud and/or wireless networks. Of the finalists selected, companies from Northern California took home nearly $3 million in prizes, including a $1 million prize that went to Mosaic, an Oakland-based network that connects investors to high-quality solar projects.
Submissions will be accepted between now and June 30 from innovators focused on ideas, solutions and answers to problems in the fields of education, healthcare, sustainability and transportation. Winners, announced in early 2015, will receive $1 million to help their answers succeed.
