FEATURED BLOG POST: Up For Adoption: "Shaky Ray"

Ray is a cute little Chihuahua puppy who is available for adoption at Palo Alto Animal Services!

"Ray" is this Animal Control Officers' favorite little dog currently here at the shelter! (excluding Bolo the pit bull) Ray was dumped in a carrier in our parking lot on May 6th. He is a Chihuahua mix who is approximately 6 months old. He has been neutered and vaccinated.

Ray is a nice little guy!  He’s a little standoffish (hence his name) at first meeting new people, but considering what his previous owners did to him that is no surprise!  The good news is though, he warms up really quickly and once he knows you, you are his new best friend.

He is learning to walk on a leash.  It’s apparent he’s had little attention until he came here.  Our volunteers will work with him each day and no doubt in a short time he’ll be leash broken and know the basics such as “come,” “sit,” “down,” etc.

We are recommending him as a good first dog for a family.  We think he’d do well with children 12 years of age, and older. He’d also make a great pet in an all adult home.  If you’re interested in learning more about Ray, please come to Palo Alto Animals Services. 3281 E. Bayshore Rd, Palo Alto - 650.496.5971
