'Memphis': A Special Kitty Who Needs a Special Home

A cat with a heart condition still deserves a chance!

“MEMPHIS”

#A055820

Memphis was adopted from the shelter back in 2004 as a kitten and was returned this year because his owner suddenly became allergic to cats. He is one of the sweetest cats who have come though the shelter in a very long time. The only caveat… he has a heart murmur.

We want to give Memphis every opportunity to have a special loving forever home, even though he may not have a normal lifespan. He was sent to a specialist for a diagnostic cardiac ultrasound. Our hope is to find him a special home with an adopter who will love him and enjoy his company, yet understand that he has some congenital heart disease and that he may have a shortened lifespan.

Right now he feels great and is already 7 years old! He may do fine for several more years or he may develop problems, only time will tell. If this does happen in the future, the adopter would consult their regular vet for treatments and recommendations.

So if you have a big heart, and you are looking for some feline companionship, please consider adopting Memphis!
