Babywearing Benefits You Too!

You might be surprised by these benefits!

Welcome to my blog! Last time we explored the many benefits for your baby that babywearing provides. This time we will explore the benefits of babywearing for you.

Convenience
This is probably the first benefit that comes to mind when you plan to wear your baby. With your hands free you can easily browse your favorite section of the bookstore, choose the freshest fruit at the farmers' market, or send a text to a friend. Crowded places are easy to navigate, and careful use of stairs or escalators eliminates the trek to find the elevator that the stroller requires. Most everything is easily possible while keeping your baby close to you.

Peace of Mind
When wearing your baby you'll always know your baby is safe, even if you're a little distracted by the details of your adventures. Having your baby next to you allows you to protect your baby from strangers and to share your baby with those you choose.

Learning Baby Cues
You'll notice that wearing your baby makes it easy to learn to read your baby's cues. Because your baby is in contact with you and right under your nose, literally, you'll immediately notice the squirming, the rooting, or other early baby cues. Early baby cues are easier to read than crying, and recognizing them is easier with your baby close to you.

Bonding
There's a special bond that occurs when wearing your baby that's not limited to parents only. It happens with anyone who is blessed with the opportunity to wear your baby. Bonding is like magic, and makes an almost tangible connection between the wearer and your baby that lasts long after the physical contact has ended.

Easy Exercise
You've probably already thought of this benefit too. Weight-bearing exercise, such as walking, builds bone mass, which helps to prevent osteoporosis. And, as you know, exercise promotes a healthy body, mind, and spirit. Wearing your baby will enhance these benefits for you and will make walking for exercise more fun!

Wearing your baby frequently, even around the house, is good for both of you.

For you and yours,
