Benefits of Bottle Feeding

Welcome to my blog! In 2013 it's common knowledge that breast milk, designed by Mother Nature, is the best food for newborn babies. But, not all women can choose to breastfeed their babies. Here are some benefits that bottle feeding provides.

Benefits

Bottle feeding is usually easier for mothers and babies to learn.

It's comforting to see how much your baby is taking at each feeding.

Any trusted person of your choice can feed your baby.

New mothers may take a baby-feeding break and get much needed rest.

Bottle feeding in public is easily accepted.

Mother's who bottle-feed may take medications as needed without worry of passing unwanted chemicals to their baby.

Mothers who bottle-feed may wear non-baby-related clothing sooner.

Mothers who bottle-feed may practice estrogen-containing oral contraception sooner, as concerns about decrease in breast milk volume do not apply.

Powerful Connection

When feeding your baby a bottle you will notice your baby's little hands curing into fists and being drawn up near the mouth, like the baby in the picture. This gesture is a natural response for babies that seems to be connected with sucking and helps babies suck more effectively. You can help your newborn hold that sucking connection by slipping your little finger into your baby's curled fist and letting your baby hold on. And when you close your fingers together you can give back some of the holding. This is such a simple but profound connection with your baby, and it enhances the overall experience for both of you. Try it, you'll see.

For you and  yours,
