Bike Party Invades Palo Alto Tonight

The San Jose Bike Party cruises through Palo Alto sometime between 7:30 p.m. and midnight tonight, expecting upwards of 1,000 bicyclists.

If you have never seen a bicyclist sporting a tuxedo, Friday night's the night.

The San Jose Bike Party celebrates its monthly bike ride with a loop through Sunnvyale, Mountain View and parts of Palo Alto. This month's theme is "The Formal Ride," so expect corsages and glitter alike fluttering down El Camino Real and through the Stanford campus.

With an expected mass of more than 1,000 bicyclists, beware of traffic delays between 7:30 p.m. and midnight Friday night, the Palo Alto Police Department warns.
