CALTRAIN ADVISORY: Construction Oct. 13-19

When and where various construction work will be conducted along Caltrain routes between Oct. 13-19.

 

Work will continue on various Caltrain construction projects, beginning Saturday, through Friday, Oct. 19.

San Bruno Grade Separation Project

Day work, which includes digging with a backhoe and mini-excavator, will be done from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. Crews will dig, install utility infrastructure, place concrete panels using a crane, excavate, and pour concrete. Crews will use medium- and heavy-duty diesel vehicles to transport dirt and concrete.

Night work will occur from Sunday, Oct. 14, through Friday, Oct. 19, between 11 p.m. and 7 a.m. Crews will use a crane to place concrete panels and will pour concrete.

This $147-million project will elevate the Caltrain tracks above three existing at-grade street crossings at San Bruno, San Mateo and Angus avenues.  A new elevated Caltrain station between San Bruno and San Mateo avenues will replace the station at Sylvan Avenue.

Work on this project will not disrupt Caltrain service.

Maintenance

Caltrain will perform routine maintenance at several locations between Oct. 13-19.

To avoid delays to passengers, the work will take place Saturday through Friday from 8 p.m. to 6 a.m. There will be some construction noise, but crews will work as quietly as possible.

This work will not disrupt Caltrain service.

San Francisco

Sunday, Oct. 14, crews will weld and grind tracks between the San Francisco and Bayshore stations.

 

San Francisco to San Jose

Saturday, Oct. 13, through Friday, Oct. 19, crews will power-wash and perform janitorial work at Caltrain stations between the San Francisco and Tamien stations.

 

San Francisco to San Mateo

Monday, Oct. 15, through Thursday, Oct. 18, crews will operate medium-duty on-track machinery to grind and align tracks between the Bayshore and Hayward Park stations.

 

Menlo Park to Sunnyvale

Monday, Oct. 15, through Thursday, Oct. 18, crews will operate medium-duty on-track machinery to grind and align tracks between the Menlo Park and Sunnyvale stations.

 

Palo Alto to Sunnyvale

Sunday, Oct. 14, crews will operate medium-duty on-track machinery to grind and align tracks between the California Avenue and Lawrence stations.
