Caltrain Victim Identified; Suicide Suspected

Last week's death caused delays during the Tuesday morning commute.

The man killed by a speeding Caltrain last Tuesday has been identified as Jason Whitten Lee, 19. A preliminary investigation has ruled the death a suicide.

No injuries were reported amongst the dozens of passengers aboard the train at the time of the incident.

Lee’s death on Nov. 20 caused delays of up to 90 minutes during the morning commute.

According to Palo Alto Online, this was the fifth suicide on Caltrain tracks this year. Overall there have been eleven deaths. Last year there were 16 Caltrain fatalities.

If you see anyone near the tracks, call Transit Police at 1-877-723-7245.
