Get Out: Earth Day + Easter

Welcome to our weekend planner, giving you the best weekend activities for Palo Alto and surrounding cities.

It’s Thursday, and if you have no idea what you’ll do for the weekend, Palo Alto Patch is coming to the rescue.

We’ve got the best bets for your done-work-outta-here time. Check out our picks for the activities to hit this Earth Day/Easter-filled weekend!

1. FREE STARBUCKS

Where/When: All Starbucks locations, Friday, all day. 

Why Go: In celebration of Earth Day (Friday, April 22), Starbucks will give out free cups of coffee and tea—if you bring your reusable mug!

2. ORGANIC WINE TRAIL EARTH DAY TOUR

Where/When:  at 24899 Miller Hill Rd. in Los Gatos, Saturday, noon to 5 p.m.

Why Go: Honor the Earth with some educational wine tasting at these certified organic vineyards! Trip includes a tour of the vineyards of the Santa Cruz Mountains, learning about organic wine grapes and a tasting. For maps and directions, visit organicwinetrail.org/.

Pricing: $35 for tour and tastings at all four wineries

 

3. EASTER EGG HUNT

Where/When:  at 701 Laurel St. in Menlo Park, Saturday, 10 a.m. to noon.

Why Go: Get a head-start on Sunday's Easter festivities with a traditional egg hunt, arts and crafts, photos with the Easter Bunny, and even fire-engine rides.

4. SPRING FAMILY PARADE

Where/When: Castro Street and Pioneer Park in Mountain View, Saturday, noon to 3 p.m.

Why Go: This year's 33rd annual "Mountain View in Bloom" features a spring parade followed by food, crafts, games and entertainment at Pioneer Park, rain or shine!

Pricing: Free

 

5.

Where/When: Albert & Janet Schultz Cultural Arts Hall, at 3921 Fabian Way in Palo Alto, Sunday, 5-6:30 p.m.

Why Go: Enjoy a bit of modern, classical and even break dancing while you support the relief effort in Japan. This recital features young dancers from all over the Bay Area, and all proceeds will go to Japan through Save the Children.
