Where/When: 80 Willow Rd., Menlo Park (Sunset Magazine headquarters), Saturday and Sunday, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Why Go: Taste some brews, check out cooking demos and get some fantastic home and garden ideas for your humble abode! The street festival's white tents beckon from Willow Road.

Why Go: Join the feathered and furry friends of the Humane Society of Silicon Valley's Animal Community Center in Milpitas for its "Birds of a Feather HOP Together" event. Meet a wide variety of birds and bunnies, such as cockatiels, macaws, king pigeons, rabbits and more! Learn about caring and interacting with these amazing animals.

Where/When: , 250 Hamilton Ave, Palo Alto, Saturday, 8 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Why Go: Help keep perfectly good items out of the landfill. Zero Waste Palo Alto is giving people's old possessions a chance at a new life for the good of the environment and the community. There are bound to be some amazing bargains to be found.

Where/When: , 3412 Ross Rd, Palo Alto, Saturday, 5:45-7:45 p.m.

Why Go: Dance the Latin rhythms of Zumba in this aerobics-style class. Zumbathon is a fundraiser supporting the Palo Alto Family YMCA's "Send a Kid to Camp" drive. This event is open to the community (ages 6 years and up).

Pricing: Donations of $15 are payable at the door.

Where/When: 2621 Ross Rd., Palo Alto, Sunday, 11 a.m. to noon

Why Go: Join Silicon Valley Bicycle Coalition members Pamela Radin and Andrew Boone for a bike tour of Palo Alto's proposed Bicycle Boulevard on Ross Rd. in Midtown. This Bicycle Boulevard, if constructed, would improve the network of bicycle routes that includes Newell Road and California Avenue. It would be the city's second north-south crosstown Bicycle Boulevard after the popular Bryant St Bicycle Boulevard.
