Get Out: Taste Champagne, Sing 'The Police'

Welcome to our weekend planner, giving you the best weekend activities for Palo Alto and surrounding cities. Hooray for three-day weekends!

It’s Thursday, and if you have no idea what you’ll do for the three-day weekend, Palo Alto Patch is coming to the rescue.

1. CHAMPAGNE TASTING @ ARTISAN WINE DEPOT

Where/When: Artisan Wine Depot, 400A Villa St., Mountain View; Friday, 4 p.m. to 7 p.m.

Why go: Try samples of the best French champagne at this walk-around tasting events, formerly entitled: "Tasting of France's Prestigious House of Bollinger: The Standard of Champagne."

2. CONCERT: STUNG (POLICE TRIBUTE)

Where/When: Courthouse Square, 2200 Broadway, Redwood City; Friday, 6 p.m. to 8 p.m.

Why go: Check out Redwood City's "Music on the Square 2011" nightlife. This weekend's band is "Stung," a Police Tribute band. Rock out to "Don't Stand So Close to Me" and "Message in a Bottle" for free!

3. MENLO FIT BOOT CAMP

Where/When: Arrillaga Gym at 600 Alma St. in Menlo Park, Saturday, 7:30-8:30 a.m. Arrive at 7:15 a.m. to sign in and warm up. 

Why Go: Because it's free and it'll get you movin' in the morning.

Where/When:  on Stanford's campus at 328 Lomita Drive, Saturday and Sunday, 1-2 p.m.

Why Go: Check out Stanford University's very own museum, the Cantor Arts Center. See displays from all over the world, spanning 4,000 years of art history. The best part about this date destination--it's free! Cantor offers constantly changing exhibitions, tours, classes and special events.

Where/When: , 26870 Moody Rd, Los Altos Hills; Weekly on Saturdays and Sundays, 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Why go:  is a 1,600-acre organic farm, woodland open space and educational center in Los Altos Hills. Pack a picnic and plan a hike, or tour the organic garden and beautiful historic Duveneck House!

Price: $2 per person, free for children ages 2 and under
