GreenCitizen Wants Your Old TV

Wondering what to do with that old television?

GreenCitizen, a company battling eco-waste, announced today that it will begin accepting large household appliances for free recycling at its four Bay Area locations, including here in Palo Alto.

Appliances being accepted by GreenCitizen include refrigerators, freezers, washers, dryers, stoves and microwave ovens. The company also offers free recycling of monitors, television sets, desktop and laptop computers, printers, fax machines, copiers, home entertainment and stereo equipment, cell phones, and answering machines. A complete list of items you can drop off is here.

“Many older appliances are not as energy efficient as their newer counterparts and responsible recycling of these appliances will ultimately conserve energy, save consumers money and protect the environment by keeping harmful components out of our landfills,” said GreenCitizen CEO James Kao in a statement today.
