Mountain Lion Spotted in Woodside
The big cat was prowling a residential street in the early morning hours.
A mountain lion was spotted on a residential street in Woodside early this morning, San Mateo County emergency officials said.
The cat was seen by a newspaper delivery person in the 300 block of Raymundo Drive at about 4:40 a.m.
San Mateo County sheriff's deputies were dispatched to the rural area and checked the neighborhood but did not see the animal.

Anyone who encounters a mountain lion is advised to face the animal, make noise and try to appear larger, and to throw rocks or other objects at the cat. More tips can be found on the California Department of Fish and Game's website.
