It's grape harvest season, and you know what that means -- wine!

Mountain Winery in Saratoga is best known for its Greek-style theatre's weekend entertainment -- this summer, it played host to the Goo Goo Dolls and The Beach Boys. Located in the heart of downtown, The Wine Room offers a large selection of wines with food pairings, like cheese and chocolate. Bring a friend and lounge on the couches next to the fireplace or invite a date into the cozy two-room lounge. Wines from all over the world range in price from $8-$15. 3. TAKE IT HOME

The artistan wines offered at Vin Vino typically come from France, Italy and California. Taste up to six wines at the in-house wine tasting bar or buy a bottle or two to take home. Discounts offered at the half-case. Find it at: 437 S. California Avenue in Palo Alto.

4. IN THE VINEYARD

A few miles southwest into the Santa Cruz Mountains you'll find Silver Mountain Winery with its collection of robust reds, whites and alloy blends. 5. CORPORATE DINNER SPOT


For a low-key wine tasting experience that doesn't sacrifice authenticity, hit up La Honda Winery in Redwood City. The winery is particularly known for its Syrah, Cabernet, Sauvignon Blanc, as well as port and dessert wine. Ask for a private winery tour, or have La Honda host your company cocktail party!
