The kids won't be in school, but you'll still be at work. Looking for something other than daycare? Check out our list of the five best options for summer camp! There are hundreds to choose from, so you'll be sure to find a camp both you and your child will love.

2. Computer Camp

Give you kids a step up in learning how to create iPhone and Android apps, video games, websites with flash, movies with Final Cut Pro and more. Ages: 7-17. Northern California locations include Stanford University.

 

3. Classic Day Camp

Camp Galileo

Kids get hands-on art, science and outdoor activities every day. Camp traditions include dress up days, water day and the rubber chicken cheer. This 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. camp offers extended afternoon care. Ages: Pre-K to 8th grade. Find it at at 1525 Middlefield Road in Palo Alto.

 

4. Swim Camp

Camp Menlo

Introduce your little ones to swimming or help your 5-10-year-olds improve their aquatic skills with 45-minute level-appropriate lessons from Menlo Swim School instructors every day. Day camp includes lunch, crafts and land game.s Ages: Pre-K; 5-1o. Find it at at 501 Laurel Street in Menlo Park.

 

5. Learn a Language

Palo Alto Language Camp

They say it becomes infinitely more difficult to learn a second language once you reach teenage years. This International School of the Peninsula’s Language Immersion Summer Camp helps children learn a second language. Programs include French, Mandarin Chinese, Spanish and ESL. Ages: 5 to middle school. Find it at 151 Laura Lane in Palo Alto.
