1. Learn to Meditate

At Ananda Palo Alto, you can learn the art of practicing healing meditation. Whether for stress relief or spiritual practice, learning to meditate can create a positive influence in your life, helping you deal with the craze of work and family life. One of the largest and oldest meditation centers in Northern California, Ananda meditation focuses on calming the mind and the heart.

Enjoy a unique summer workout learning brazeo [arm movements], taconeo [footwork patterns], and palmas [hand-clapping] with these weekly flamenco classes for beginners. All classes are accompanied by live flamenco guitar and can be purchased at a discount when buying multiple classes at once.

3. Growing Vegetables in the Cool Season

Master Gardener Marcia Fein demonstrates seasonal vegetable gardening, including timing of seed starting and planting to maximize harvest; planning the warm to cool season transition; watering, feeding, weeding, and managing pests in the cool season; and cool season cover crops.

4. Learn to Fly

Flight instructor Lucy Geever of Advantage Aviation offers learn-to-fly seminars, private pilot ground school and flying lessons, and free seminars for pilots.
