PHOTOS: California Disclose Act Campaign Kicks Off
Hundreds gathered to hear supporters of the act, which aims to increase transparency in campaign funding.
A crowd of 215 people gathered at the on Saturday to kickoff the California Disclose Act campaign. The bill, formally known as AB 1148 and sponsored by the California Clean Money Campaign, will most notably require candidates to identify their three biggest contributors by name and logo in TV, radio, online, print, and mailed advertisements. It will also require the ads to include a website link for further disclosures.
Assemblymembers Julia Brownley and Paul Fong co-authored the bill; Fong spoke at the church alongside several other assemblymembers and former mayor Peter Drekmeier.
