The Great Mini-Escape: Guided Lunch-Hour Meditations

After taking care of everyone else, it's time to take care of you. If the stress of the work day can be a bit too much sometimes, try the Stress-Free Lunch-Hour Meditations at Firefly Willows.

Your teens are holding a car wash at the high school on Saturday. The grandparents volunteered to take your young children to a movie on Sunday afternoon. Your 'tweens take tap dance on Wednesday evening.

However it works out, it’s your time. Take it.

In “The Great Escape,” each week, we’ll tell you about one great idea to give you a much-deserved break and make your life a little easier. Maybe a whole lot easier.

It’s a good thing the lunch break was invented, because sometimes, the stress of the day can be a bit too much, and that 60-minute break can be our one saving grace.

If your lunch hour can use a little extra pick-me-up in the stress-relief department, we suggest popping by the Firefly Willows healing arts shop in downtown Los Altos for one of its weekly Stress-Free Lunch Hour Meditation workshops.

Every Thursday from noon to 1 p.m., Andria Wagner leads a guided healing and meditation hour to bring more peace and clarity into your busy week. In this session, you will experience a variety of styles of meditations from yogic and Buddhist practices, to angelic and pranic healing techniques. The meditations are focused on clearing space in the mind and heart, as well as improving energy levels to promote better health by reducing stress and tension.

Each session has a fresh, new focus and contains current information to improve your well-being—giving you a great reason to go every week, if you need it.

Need one more reason to go? It’s free! Donations are accepted.

Firefly Willows is at 111 Main St., Suite D, in Los Altos. For more information, call 650-947-9300 or visit fireflywillows.com.
