VTA to Shut Hwy 101 in Palo Alto Sunday

Crews will install new utility lines.

The Santa Clara Valley Transportation Authority will briefly shut down U.S. Highway 101 in Mountain View and Palo Alto on Sunday morning to install new utility lines.

The closure is estimated to be 15 minutes in duration and will occur sometime between 4 a.m. and 5 a.m. between San Antonio Road and Oregon Expressway in both directions.

Crews will remove existing utility lines and place new ones as part of the U.S. 101 Auxiliary Lanes Project, which aims to improve congestion in the area, according to the VTA.
