Join us for a presentation by Cat Burns, the executive director of the San Francisco Bay Bird Observatory (SFBBO), a renowned research and conservation organization.

For more than a decade, the SFBBO has studied the populations of California Gulls and Western Snowy Plovers in the San Francisco Bay. The Western Snowy Plover is currently listed as threatened under the 1973 U.S. Endangered Species Act due to long-term population decline. On the other hand, the Bay's California Gull population has surged over the past 30 years.

If you want to learn more about these fascinating species and the ways in which their population trends are intertwined, come to the EcoCenter on Saturday, September 21!
