Harker Concert Series - PROJECT Trio

Innovative NYC Chamber Trio

Performs at Harker Concert Series in December

San Jose, CA – The Brooklyn-based PROJECT Trio will bring their unique,

high-energy brand of chamber music to San Jose on Dec. 13 with a performance at
the Harker Concert Series. Made up of three accomplished musicians from varying
musical backgrounds, the group has already made its mark on the Internet
generation with wildly popular YouTube videos featuring virtuosic and
imaginative renditions of TV show themes, modern pop songs, classical
favorites, jazz standards and original material.  Formed in 2005 in Boulder, Colo., PROJECT Trio’s popularity exploded in 2006 when flautist Greg Pattillo’s “Flute Beatbox” YouTube video went viral. The video has since been viewed more than 28 million times, and the
group’s YouTube channel boasts 87,000 subscribers. Far from being an Internet-only
sensation, they have received rave reviews from Downbeat, the Wall Street
Journal and the New York Times and have been heard on National Public Radio’s
“Heavy Rotation,” Sirius XM and commercials for Nike and Smart Cars and have
appeared on Nickelodeon and MTV.

After making their Carnegie Hall debut in 2010, PROJECT Trio’s
rigorous schedule has grown to include more than 70 performances a year, in
addition to the numerous workshops for students at schools all over the world,
changing the perspectives of young minds about the versatility of classical
instruments.

This concert will take place at 8 p.m. at the Nichols Hall
auditorium, located at The Harker School’s upper school campus at 500 Saratoga
Ave. in San Jose. Complimentary soft drinks and hors d'oeuvres will be served
at a 7 p.m. reception. Beer and wine will also be served. Tickets for this
event can be purchased via the Harker Concert Series website at http://www.harker.org/concertseries.

The Harker Concert Series, now in its fourth season, is a
crucial part of The Harker School’s ongoing mission to serve the greater Bay
Area community by providing it with entertaining and enlightening events.
